Azerbaijan Society of America announces scholarship winners of 2022 Fall Semester

USA - The Azerbaijan Society of America (ASA) has announced the winners of the 2022 Fall Semester Scholarship Program. The competition was designed to award Azerbaijani students who have shown dedication and interest in the promotion of Azerbaijan among the American public.

Vusala Islamova

The response to the scholarship competition from students across the United States was the greatest it ever has been in the many years of the competition.

The panel of ten judges was impressed by the depth and creativity of the entries and found it difficult to choose the two winners. The many impressive entries told the stories of students with great extracurricular activities, clear future vision, and how they overcame obstacles.

Elnura Musazade

The two winners of this year's award winners are Elnura Musazade of CUNY Baruch College in New York City and Vusala Islamova of Drexel University in Pennsylvania.

Both students submitted well written essays which demonstrated not only a high level of ambition and academic success but also a love for their homeland and desire to share that love with the rest of the world. The award of $3,000 to each student will be sent directly to their university to offset their educational expenses.

ASA established a scholarship fund nine years ago to help Azerbaijani, Azerbaijani-American, and Azerbaijan-born children adopted by American families, who are studying at an accredited college or university in the United States.

The Azerbaijan Society of America Scholarship Program is totally funded by the Azerbaijani-Americans and American members of ASA.
