Azerbaijan Society of America Celebrates The Day of Solidarity of the World Azerbaijanis

The Day of Solidarity of the World Azerbaijanis is dedicated to the unity and solidarity of the World Azerbaijanis and demonstrates their respect for national values.  It is a day to gather all the Azerbaijanis of the world under one flag - the proud tri-color flag of Azerbaijan. This special holiday was initiated by President Heydar Aliyev and it has been officially celebrated since 1993.

Over the years the The Day of Solidarity of the World Azerbaijanis achieved even greater meaning in the 21st century. The major successes achieved in all areas of state progress in Azerbaijan since its independence has provided countless opportunities for Azerbaijan to take its rightful position within the international community.

A celebration on the evening of December 25, 2022 was organized by the Azerbaijan Society of America and was well attended. Young and old alike demonstrated their pride of their national and spiritual values .

The masters of the ceremony were Tansu Suleymanli and Revan Qasimzade, ASA’s“Young Leaders of Tomorrow.”  They spoke of the importance of growing up in the USA with a sense of belonging to their historical homeland.

Children were entertained by Shahta Baba (the Azerbaijani version of Santa Claus) and his helper,  played by two Azerbaijani students, Isa Jafarov, who is a research assistant at the City University of NY (CUNY) as Shahta Baba, and Suad Muradov, former student with Bachelor degree in International Studies from ADA University, as Shahta’s helper.

We take great pride in our brilliant, talented youth who also can be very entertaining while teaching and guiding the younger children in our organization.

Azerbaijan Society of America,  congratulates all the Azerbaijanis living in different countries of the world. We wish Azerbaijan a lasting freedom, an eternal independence and prosperity.  We wish everyone a Happy New Year.
