“Tomorrow's Young Leaders"

“Tomorrow's Young Leaders"

Group has been established under the auspices of the Azerbaijan Society of America (ASA), with the mission of fostering fresh thinking and dynamic new ways of collaboration, inspiring, and connecting with others in the diverse Azerbaijani-American community.

Founder of the group, Nikar Samadova, held the group's first video meeting on Saturday December 17, 2022 and she will lead the group for the first term, which is one year.  The meeting brought together many young children who were inspired and encouraged to get involved.

The theme for the meeting was "Involvement". Young participants volunteered to be more active on social media and in the distribution of cultural books about Azerbaijan to their school libraries, this is planned to happen by the Solidarity Day of the World Azerbaijanis. Visiting children wards in hospitals, as well as senior nursing homes planned for Novruz Holiday 2023. Older children plan to tutor younger children with their homework and English skills, also the mission of the group.

Getting involved in volunteering and in extracurricular activities has many benefits and are often required to apply for scholarships at universities. Many scholarship programs reward students with leadership, and volunteering in high school is an excellent way to demonstrate leadership.

Video meetings will be set up every month. We encourage everyone who are interested to get in touch with ASA and join the next meeting.

Board members of Azerbaijan Society of America are proud to be involved with organization's American born youth and we are proud that the name of the Azerbaijan Society of America will be in every application and every resume our youth files when they apply for scholarship.
