Bravo Azerbaijani-American community of Philadelphia!

Celebrating ADR in America continues with a Flag Raising Ceremony, at the City Hall Building in Philadelphia, where both American and Azerbaijani flags are raised in honor of ADR.

For the very first time the City of Philadelphia's Mayor Jim Kenney recognized the Azerbaijani-Americans and commemorated ADR with issuing a proclamation. Our community in Philadelphia presented an album of pictures to Mayor Kenney of our beautiful homeland and for the activities of the community residing in Philadelphia.

Both America and Azerbaijan National anthems were recited.

Speeches were made highlighting the proud history of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

Azerbaijan Cultural Presentation was displayed by Jeffrey Werbock, violin performance was done by Mr. Azer Damirov, Doctor of Musical Arts, Azerbaijani Dance performance by Zamin Akbarov & Sedef Ozer

We are so proud even after 100 years, even after 75 of those 100 years being under the soviet rule, Azerbaijanis in the world community are eternally proud of their history and always will be grateful to their ancestors who relentlessly fought and lost their lives for the Independence...

The flags of Azerbaijan and America continued being raised in front of Philadelphia City Hall every year on May 28 since 2018.

Azerbaijani American community in Philadelphia are also persistent to have Azerbaijan's flag permanently be included along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, at the present Azerbaijan's flag is not among the range of other country's flags. We will do everything in our power until this will also become a reality...
