Visiting Washington D.C.

Board members of Azerbaijan Society of America spent a day in Washington DC, visiting ADA University Washington Center and attending a reception organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to US.

ADA University, was founded in March 2006 as Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy and in 2014 by the decree of H.E. Ilham Aliyev was transformed into a university. ADA's founding rector is Ambassador Hafiz Pashayev, who is a Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan and a former ambassador of Azerbaijan to the United States.

At ADA University Washington Center, we met with over 20 teachers and principals from remote regions of Azerbaijan, Gazakh, Tovuz, Ganja, Barda, Goygol, Oghuz, Lankaran, Sheki, Yevlakh, Aghdam, Dashkasan, Fizuli, Shamkir who are all here for a training program.

We talked about our glorious history, we all expressed our gratitude for the present and talked about the bright future of our homeland Azerbaijan.

Teachers truly are the backbone of society. They are role models to children, offer guidance and dedication and give young people the power of education, prepare them for the future.

Azerbaijan Society of America promised to meet with all the teachers again in Qazax, Azerbaijan, at the grand opening of Qazax Teachers Seminary.

In the evening we attended a reception celebrating the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 30th Anniversary of Azerbaijan-US relations and Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan , The reception was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington DC and attended well over 700 guests.

We are grateful to the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and especially to our Ambassador Khazar Ibrahim for their kind invitation to the members of Azerbaijan Society of America.
