Azerbaijan Society of America Condemns Iranian Drone Attacks on Azerbaijani Territory
The Azerbaijan Society of America (ASA) strongly condemns the recent drone attacks launched from Iranian territory against the Nakhchivan region of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to Azerbaijani authorities, several unmanned aerial vehicles struck civilian areas, including infrastructure near Nakhchivan International Airport and a nearby school, injuring civilians and damaging public facilities.
These attacks represent a serious violation of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a dangerous escalation that threatens regional stability in the South Caucasus. Targeting or endangering civilian infrastructure and populations is unacceptable and contradicts the fundamental principles of international law.
The Azerbaijan Society of America stands in solidarity with the people of Azerbaijan and expresses its deep concern for those injured in the attacks.
Azerbaijan has consistently emphasized its commitment to peace, regional cooperation, and respect for international law. Any hostile action against its territory undermines these efforts and risks widening instability in an already fragile region.
ASA urges the Government of Iran to provide a clear explanation regarding the incident and to take immediate measures to ensure that such attacks are not repeated.
The Azerbaijan Society of America remains committed to advocating for peace, security, and respect for international law while supporting the sovereignty and democratic future of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
