Our organization, founded in 1957 by visionary Azerbaijani Americans, has always upheld the values of diversity, respect, and inclusion principles deeply rooted in the history and culture of our homeland. In 1918, Azerbaijan became the very first Muslim-majority nation in the world to establish a democratic and independent republic, granting equal rights to all its citizens regardless of religion, ethnicity, or gender.

Since our founding, we have upheld this proud legacy by bringing together Jews, Muslims, and Christians within our organization to celebrate unity, friendship, and shared values reflecting the enduring spirit of our founding fathers in Azerbaijan.

New York City is home to thousands of Azerbaijani Americans who proudly contribute to the cultural, social, and economic vitality of this great city. Many members of our community actively supported your campaign by volunteering and voting for you to become the Mayor of New York City. We are confident that, under your leadership, our shared values of diversity, mutual respect, and civic engagement will continue to flourish.

At the Azerbaijan Society of America, we place great emphasis on encouraging our youth to be informed and active participants in the democratic process. We advise them to study the issues, understand each candidate’s platform, and engage in open dialogue through town halls and community events. Your election is a powerful example of how dedication, inclusivity, and service can inspire the next generation of leaders.
