Year-End and Solidarity Day Message from the Azerbaijan Society of America
Dear Members and Supporters of the Azerbaijan Society of America,
As we reflect on the year gone by, we begin with a deep sense of sorrow and empathy for the entire Azerbaijani nation and all Azerbaijanis around the world. We are profoundly saddened by the tragic crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, which claimed the lives of 38 individuals, leaving 29 survivors.
This heartbreaking accident, occurring just before the start of the new year, has left many in mourning. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families who have lost their loved ones, and our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragedy.
On World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day, we come together in unity and pride, celebrating the strength of the Azerbaijani people, no matter where we are. This special day not only marks our shared heritage, but also reminds us of the power of solidarity in overcoming challenges, supporting one another, and fostering peace and understanding across the globe.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the future and the many projects that lie ahead. We plan to host conferences designed to empower the youth, providing them with a platform to engage, share ideas, and contribute to a brighter future for Azerbaijani-Americans. Engaging younger Turkic Americans in the US-Turkic World Youth Movement Conference to enhance the role of multi-generational Turkic Americans network in the US. These events will continue to be a cornerstone of our work, providing invaluable opportunities for personal and professional development.
Our holiday gatherings also promise to be special occasions where we celebrate the spirit of togetherness and reflect on the progress we have made. We invite you to join us in these moments of celebration, as we look back on the accomplishments of the year and look forward to the challenges and successes that await.
As an independent, non-governmental organization, we rely heavily on the contributions of individuals like you to bring our vision to life. Your donations allow us to host events, support cultural initiatives, and organize gatherings that bring our community closer together. It is because of your support that we are able to create opportunities for growth, learning, and connection.
As we enter a new year, we ask for your continued support. Together, we can achieve even greater milestones and make a lasting impact for our community and beyond. In previous years, your generosity has played a pivotal role in enabling us to uphold our values and foster a deeper understanding of Azerbaijani culture, history, and achievements.
